Maximum functionality in a minimum of space

Crankcase ventilation

A wide range of products and extensive expertise, especially in testing and measurement technology, has made Hengst one of the leading manufacturers of integrated systems for crankcase ventilation and oil mist separation in internal combustion engines. The functionality of crankcase ventilation and oil mist separation is differentiated on the basis of the different boundary conditions found in Diesel and gasoline engines. Various concepts can be used for engine ventilation, in which multiple components can be combined with one another to regulate pressure and volume and for oil mist separation. In selecting a suitable oil mist separator, in addition to the separation efficiency, additional factors must be taken into consideration, such as pressure loss, available space, costs, service life and functional characteristics at different flow rates. Types of separators that are used for gasoline engines include volume separators, fiber separators, centrifuges and cyclone, including regulated cyclones. In Diesel engines this product line is supplemented by electrostatic precipitators, which are extremely effective with minimal pressure loss.
