Designed for the most demanding requirements

Fuel filter systems

Hengst fuel filters are custom-designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern fuel injection processes such as common rail, unit injector and unit pump. The filter systems help to protect sensitive components from wear and minimize pressure loss. The filter media used are characterized by a very high absolute filtration grade and water separation capability. Filter casings made of die-cast aluminum or injection-molded plastic can also optimize the component weight and simultaneously minimize flow losses thanks to their efficient design. Used filter inserts can be removed cleanly from the filter casing and disposed of in compliance with the German Altautoverordnung [End-of-Life vehicle regulations].

Peak performance at high pressure

For the MAN D08 and D20 engines

State-of-the-art common rail technology requires filter systems that remove both tiny dirt particles and water from the fuel. With an appropriate sensor system (which is sometimes optional) and a range of different valve functions, the fuel system can be monitored, power can be released to the glow-plug system and the water removed from the fuel can be drained automatically from the reservoir. The integrated heating system can be programmed as appropriate. The excess fuel from the various systems is collected in the module and returned to the tank via a return line. During service, the housing can be emptied automatically via the automatic drain. With a manual pump that is adapted to fit the filter housing, all the service functions of the fuel system are in one central location. For service, the micro-filter element is replaced and the screen filter insert in the pre-filter is cleaned.More »

A powerful performer

One module for all requirements

Fuel systems are sensitive to throttling on the intake side. Hengst’s modular design is based on a powerful manual pump which is “removed” from the fuel system during normal engine operation. That eliminates one choke point on the intake side. In the model with an integrated pre-filter, only the corresponding filter medium is integrated into the fuel system. Compared to conventional manual pump systems, there is a significant increase in volume flow. The engine-side pump can also be made smaller. Special models with higher pump capacities are available on request.More »
